The U.S. State Department and Department of Homeland Security announce new travel requirements for all travelers to and from Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda. As of December 31, 2006 passports will be MANDATORY for travel from the United States to all of the following international destinations. Antigua Aruba Barbados Belize Bermuda Costa Rica Grand Bahama Island Grand Cayman Jamaica Juan Dolio/Boca Chica La Romana Nasau and Paradise Island Puerto Plata Punta Cana St.Kitts St.Lucia St.Martin/St.Maarten Turks & Caicos U.S.Virgin Islands - St.Croix, St.Thomas, St.John Additional deadlines: December 31, 2006 - Passports mandatory for all air and sea travel to or from Mexico and Canada December 31, 2007 - Passports mandatory for all air, sea and land border crossing.
