KITZBUEHEL: Kitzbuehel is a charming 14 century walled town which has grown exponentially over the years. There are over 186 miles of prepared slopes and as many miles of off-piste possibilities. Kitzbuehel has made significant investments in their snowmaking systems. This is the site of one of the first "ski safaris", where skiers travel 30 km by lift and 35 km on skis between Kitzbuehel and Pass Thurn. Just follow the signs with the blue elephant. New lists like the 3S gondola connecting Pengelstein and Jochberg have made travel between villages faster. Recently, a new connection from Kitzbuehel and Kirchberg to the nearby "Ski Welt" means a skipass connecting another 250 lifts and 420 miles of trails is now available. Kitzbuehel is Austria's winter entertainment capital with top European performers appearing throughout the season. This resort has something for everyone, combining sophistication and friendly informality with superb skiing.
